B
Answer
Regulations and administration
Type
A
Basic with Honours
B
Basic
C
Basic with Morse code
D
Advanced
Answer Notes
Thanks to a longstanding reciprocal operating agreement between Canada and the United States, Canadian amateur radio operators only need a Basic qualification to operate south of the border. You are granted privileges equivalent to your Canadian qualifications, but subject to US regulations.
Unlike the CEPT agreement for European and other participating countries which requires an Advanced qualification, the US-Canada treaty recognizes the entry-level Basic certificate. Therefore, distractors suggesting Advanced or Basic with Honours are incorrectly applying stricter international rules to a specialized North American treaty.
