Type
A
Anywhere in the voice portion of the band
B
Anywhere in the CW portion of the band
C
Approximately 14.074 MHz to 14.077 MHz
D
Approximately 14.110 MHz to 14.113 MHz
Answer Notes
FT8 is a highly structured digital mode that relies on all operators monitoring the exact same frequency, known as a 'watering hole.' On the 20-meter band, the universally agreed-upon dial frequency for FT8 is 14.074 MHz (using Upper Sideband).
Because FT8 software decodes all signals within a 3 kHz audio passband simultaneously, operations are strictly confined to the resulting 14.074 MHz to 14.077 MHz window. You will rarely find FT8 signals scattered randomly throughout the rest of the CW or data segments.
The other frequencies listed are incorrect. The 14.110 MHz area is outside the standard digital segment, and FT8 is strictly forbidden in the voice portion of the bands.
