Which of the following describes MOSFET construction?

The term MOSFET stands for Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor Field-Effect Transistor. The key to its construction and operation is the oxide layer, which acts as a very thin electrical insulator separating the control gate from the semiconductor channel. Because of this insulating layer, the gate draws virtually no DC current, allowing the device to have an extremely high input impedance. This differs from a standard Junction Field-Effect Transistor (JFET), where the gate is formed by a reverse-biased (back-biased) PN junction rather than an insulating layer.
