Answer Notes

The control point of an amateur station is defined as the specific location where the control operator function is performed. This is wherever the operator is physically sitting to manipulate the dials, microphone, or computer interface directing the transmissions. With modern technology, many stations can be operated remotely via the internet. Because of this, the control point can be hundreds of miles away from the physical location of the transmitter and antenna. The FCC defines the control point by the presence of the operator, not the hardware.
