In a half-wave dipole, the distribution of _______ is lowest at each end.
C
Answer
Interference, EMC, and safety
Type
A
voltage
B
capacitance
C
current
D
inductance
Answer Notes
The ends of a half-wave dipole are physical open circuits. Because electrons cannot flow past the end of the wire into empty space, the flow of electric charge must stop at the tips. This means the current is at its absolute lowest (essentially zero) at each end of the antenna.
While the current is minimal at the ends, the impedance is at its highest, which causes the voltage to peak at these same locations. Understanding this inverse relationship between current and voltage along a dipole is fundamental to visualizing how antennas radiate.
