Answer
Interference, EMC, and safety
Type
A
ground-plane antenna
B
helical-beam antenna
C
quad antenna
D
folded dipole antenna
Answer Notes
A helical-beam antenna consists of a conducting wire wound in the form of a helix. It transmits and receives circularly polarized radio waves. Because a circularly polarized wave's electric field rotates through all planes, this antenna will readily respond to both vertically- and horizontally-polarized signals.
Other antennas listed are strictly linearly polarized. A ground-plane antenna is exclusively vertically polarized. Quad and folded dipole antennas are linearly polarized (usually horizontal or vertical depending on their physical orientation) and will heavily attenuate signals that are cross-polarized to them.
