Answer Notes

The term "DX" is a traditional telegraphic shorthand used in amateur radio to mean "distance" or "distant station". Chasing DX is a popular activity where operators try to make contact with stations that are extremely far away. On the HF (High Frequency) bands, DX typically refers to communicating with stations in foreign countries or on other continents. On VHF or UHF bands, DX might simply refer to reaching a station located just beyond your normal local propagation range.
