Antennas and feed lines
Type

An SMA connector
B
A PL-259 connector
C
An F-type connector
D
An RCA connector

Answer Notes

Modern hand-held transceivers are highly compact and require a secure, miniature connection for their antennas. The SMA (SubMiniature version A) connector is currently the industry standard for these devices because it is extremely small, physically robust, and uses a threaded connection that keeps the antenna securely attached. Older or slightly larger portable radios sometimes used BNC connectors, which use a quick quarter-turn bayonet mount, but these are less common on modern ultra-compact radios. PL-259 connectors are much too large for hand-helds, and RCA connectors are generally used for audio, not RF transmission.
