Answer Notes
The Q signal "QRV" is used to indicate that an operator is at their station and prepared to receive a transmission. It is commonly used at the beginning of a scheduled contact or when checking into a net to let the control operator know you are listening and ready.
A good mnemonic for QRV is associating the "V" with being "Vigilant" and ready to copy a message. Be careful not to confuse this with QRT, which means an operator is quitting or stopping transmission, or QRS, which is a request to send slower.
