Answer Notes

Under FCC Part 97 rules, amateur stations are generally required to transmit their assigned call sign to identify themselves at least every 10 minutes and at the end of a communication. This applies regardless of how brief the transmission is, the power level used, or whether the signal is unmodulated. However, there is a specific exemption for the telecommand (remote control) of model craft, such as drones, RC airplanes, or RC cars. When transmitting signals specifically for controlling these models, you do not need to identify your station on the air. Keep in mind that while station identification on the air is waived for model craft, you are still required to affix a physical label indicating your name, call sign, and address to the station transmitter.
