Answer Notes
In Digital Mobile Radio (DMR), communications are organized into "Talkgroups." To communicate with a specific group of stations, you select or enter the Talkgroup ID (identification code) on your transceiver.
The Talkgroup ID acts like a virtual channel that routes your voice packets through the DMR network to everyone else listening to that specific ID, regardless of what frequency or local repeater they are using to access the network.
While CTCSS tones are commonly used to access analog repeaters, they are not used in digital modes like DMR. Additionally, do not confuse the concept of a software "code plug" with a literal physical five-pin plug.
