C
The codec type being used
D
All these choices are correct
Answer Notes
D-STAR (Digital Smart Technologies for Amateur Radio) relies heavily on call sign routing to direct signals across the network, both locally and globally. Before you can transmit on a D-STAR network, you must program your own call sign into the radio so the system knows who is originating the transmission.
While output power is adjustable on almost all radios, it is not a specific requirement of the D-STAR digital protocol itself. Furthermore, you do not need to program the codec type; D-STAR radios use a specific proprietary hardware vocoder chip (AMBE) built right into the device.
Because the codec is hardwired and automatic, the only strict digital routing requirement you must manually input is your personal call sign.
