Answer Notes

Answering a CQ call should be brief, efficient, and clear. You only need to state the other station's call sign once so they know you are responding to their specific call. Follow this with "this is" and your own call sign. Excessive repetition of call signs, such as saying them three or five times, clutters the airwaves and slows down communication. While repeating your call sign might be necessary in extremely poor band conditions, standard operating procedure dictates a short, concise response.
