Answer Notes

Simplex operation is the most basic form of two-way radio communication. It involves two or more stations taking turns transmitting and receiving on the exact same frequency. This is different from duplex or repeater operation, where a station transmits on one frequency and receives on a different one (using an offset). It is also distinct from one-way communications, which is considered broadcasting and is generally prohibited in amateur radio.
