Answer Notes

Single Sideband (SSB) phone is a highly efficient voice mode that is not restricted only to the HF bands; it is fully authorized and commonly used in the VHF and UHF bands. For amateur bands above 50 MHz, the FCC allows SSB operation in at least some segment of every single band. The distractors contain false limitations. SSB is not restricted to repeaters (in fact, repeaters typically use FM), nor is it limited to a maximum of 25 watts or restricted to General class and higher. Technicians have full VHF/UHF privileges, including SSB, in the designated sub-bands.
